Updates on Lee - Saturday, April 9 - 2100

In the mid afternoon, Lee was having some saturation issues. One thought was to turn him over on his belly (prone) to reduce much of the stress involved with his breathing. As it turns out, once the Dialysis started, things smoothed out quite a bit.

The official start time of the dialysis treatment was 1420. Brother Gregg had gone to the house to check on some things, and while he was gone, the Respiratory Therapist (RT) lowered the Oxygen Input to 95% to see if he could tolerate the beginning of what could be a long weaning process. His Saturation levels held stable, hovering around 95%.

When Gregg returned from his excursion (and after setting off the house alarm twice), the RT lowered the Input to 85%...and saturation levels stayed in the high 90s...

The Dialysis went well, and the RN administering the procedure, as well as the other looking in on Lee had a smile on their faces!

Two hours later, the RT lowered the Input to 80% and his levels are staying at 99%. The plan is to work down to 70% by morning.

This is good news indeed!
